Student Discounts in NYC

Question: One of my main reasons to apply to Barnard is for the number of cultural opportunities that New York City provides. Does Barnard offer discounted tickets to theatre productions, museums, and/or music performances throughout the city?

Answer: Yes! Both the Barnard and Columbia Student Life offices provide discounted tickets for events on campus and throughout the city. This ranges from Broadway shows, to museum admission, to baseball games at Yankee Stadium. There is also a lottery every semester that students can join to win free tickets for excursions called "Urban NY." If you don't win, you can still show up at the designated meeting time and put yourself on the waitlist. I saw Once On This Island and Kinky Boots by showing up for the the waitlist.
